La Sécurité est un collectif art-punk basé à Montréal/Tiohtià:ke, dont la musique combine rythmiques bondissantes, arrangements décalés et mélodies minimalistes, le tout passé à travers un filtre d’insomnie nourri par les néons de la ville. Pensée pour le mouvement et les pistes de danse, leur musique revendique une énergie brute et dangereusement euphorique, tandis que leurs textes s’inscrivent dans l’héritage du mouvement Riot Grrrl en célébrant l’autonomisation des femmes, l’amitié et la bienveillance. Formé au printemps 2022, le groupe s’est rapidement distingué par ses performances intenses et fédératrices, invité sur des scènes et festivals majeurs tels que SXSW, End of the Road, The Great Escape, Reeperbahn ou le Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, tout en tournant aux côtés de The Go! Team en 2024 et The Rapture en 2025. Leur identité bilingue, leur sens du groove et leur rapport très physique à la scène ont contribué à faire d’eux l’un des projets les plus singuliers et stimulants de la scène alternative québécoise actuelle.
Le premier album Stay Safe!, sélectionné pour le Polaris Music Prize 2024, a été salué pour son mélange d’attitude post-punk, de pop anguleuse et de new wave dansante, conjuguant urgence politique et plaisir immédiat. Prolongé par Stay Safe! REMIXED, le disque a confirmé leur capacité à transformer une esthétique DIY en une machine à tubes nerveux et accrocheurs. Les singles “Detour” et “Ketchup” ont ensuite ouvert la voie à une nouvelle étape artistique, marquée par une collaboration avec le label britannique Bella Union aux côtés de leur partenaire historique Mothland. Leur second album Bingo!, produit par Félix Bélisle et Emmanuel Éthier, poursuit cette exploration aux frontières du punk, de la new wave et du krautrock, avec des accents proto-pop qui évoquent aussi bien Le Tigre que Snõõper ou les B-52s, affirmant plus que jamais une identité collective, libre et résolument tournée vers la danse.
