Al and Bailey — bonded over The Flaming Lips and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood — have spent years writing music together while zigzagging across the U.S., playing in bands like Sloppy Jane, Water From Your Eyes, and This is Lorelei. Their project, fantasy, was born in fleeting moments between cramped tour vans and packed apartments, a way to make sense of their lives and relationships. When the pandemic hit, the duo settled in L.A. and committed to fantasy as a proper band, channeling years of shared experience into a sound that’s both sprawling and intimate.
